America`s premier postclassical string quartet, ETHEL, invigorates contemporary concert music with refreshing exuberance, fierce intensity, imaginative programming and exceptional artistry. ETHEL is comprised of Cornelius Dufallo on violin, Dorothy Lawson on cello, Jennifer Choi on violin and Ralph Farris on viola.
ETHEL performs fabulous compositions from the past four decades. They boldly explore new synergies between tradition and technology. They have toured the world with concerts in Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, the Sydney Opera House, and Holland`s TROMP Festival to name a few.
For their Honolulu concert they will feature their program "Present Beauty" with compositions by Terry Riley, Huang Ruo, David Lang, Julia Wolfe, Philip Glass and selections from their residency work at Punahou School.
