Pacific New Media Juried Exhibition

Are you a creative image-maker who uses digital technology?

Pacific New Media is sponsoring a juried exhibition designed to provide a snapshot of the “state of the art” of digital media in Hawaii.

Hawaii residents, amateurs and professionals are welcome to submit images.

Selected images are exhibited at Canon Gallery

March 2, 2009 - March 31, 2009.

Requirements: You must have taken the image digitally; i.e., cell phone, digital camera, or scanner. Image must have been created within the past two years and not previously exhibited.

Photographers living in the state of Hawaii who are 18 and older are eligible. Work must be original. Selected work must be printed for exhibition.

Frames and mattes: Canon Gallery will provide standard mattes and frames for the following print sizes OR you have the option to matte and frame your own work.

February 13 • Accepted artists notified by email
February 18 - 23 • Final prints due delivered to Canon Gallery, 210 Ward Avenue, Suite 701
March 2 • Artist Reception 11am - 1pm
April 1 and April 2 • Pick up prints at Canon Gallery 9am - 5pm

  1. Register/Pay for submission at www.outreach.hawaii.edu or call 956-8400
    Entry fee $ 5 per image. Maximum 5 images

  2. Email images with the following information to pnmphoto@gmail.com

  3. List of titles to correspond with file name
    ID number (registration/payment confirmation number).

    Submit in jpeg format - longest dimension no larger then 1000px wide at 72dpi. Maximum 2 megs.
    File names: First initial, Last Name, entry number (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).jpg

Pacific New Media reserves the right to reject works for any reason.
LIABILITY: Entries are submitted at artist's/owners own risk. PNM and Canon are not responsible for the loss of or damage to works. Accepted works must remain at the Canon Gallery for the total period of the exhibition.

David Ulrich is a photographer and writer whose work has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions. His work combines traditional photography with digital imaging. Ulrich has taught digital applications for Pacific Imaging Center, Kodak's Center for Creative Imaging, New York University, and others. For 15 years, he was an associate professor and served as the chair of the photography department at The Art Institute of Boston. He is a core faculty member of Pacific New Media and is the chair of the visual arts department at Cornish College in Seattle.

Jerry Omo Jr., AAS, Rochester Institute of Technology, is a professional photographer who has worked on projects for the U.S. Army, Mead Paper, Kodak, Korean Airlines, Konica West, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Hawaiian Sun Chocolates, Tradewind Charters, Indich Collection, Ross' Appliance, Surf News Network, and KHON.
