Human Resource Management
Developed in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®), the Essentials of Human Resource Management and the Human Resource Management Certification Review provide up-to-date knowledge related to the field of human resource management.
The Human Resource Management Certification Review (offered twice annually) is ideal for experienced HR professionals who are preparing to take the PHR or SPHR Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) examinations. The Essentials of Human Resource Management (offered once annually) offers an in-depth overview for entry-level HR assistants, specialists in a single functional area of HR, small business owners and managers who need to understand HR law and practices, and currently-certified HR professionals who need an update and CE hours for recertification.
Professional Certification
The Professional in Human Resources (PHR) examination focuses more on the technical/ operational aspects of HR management, whereas the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) examination focuses on the strategic/ policy issues of HR management.
For the PHR, you must have demonstrated professional HR experience of: 4 years with less than a Bachelor's degree, 2 years with a Bachelor's degree, or 1 year with a Master's degree or higher. For the SHPR, you must have demonstrated professional HR experience of: 7 years with less than a Bachelor's degree, 5 years with a Bachelor's degree, or 4 years with a Master's degree or higher.
HR Certification Review program content reflects the general body of knowledge tested by HRCI; the program in no way guarantees or assures success on the HRCI exam. Students must use the most recent edition of the SHRM® Learning System (included in the course fee).
