Study basic techniques for digital photographic systems, including: camera controls, metering, lighting, lenses, depth of field, film, charged coupled devices, white balancing, megapixels, file types and sizes, recording options, and storage media. As all images are submitted electronically, a basic email account and the ability to resize images for email submission are necessary for photo assignments. Bring a single lens reflex (SLR) 35mm or point-and-shoot digital camera with manual capability to the class. Assignments are critiqued.
