Introduction to Final Cut Pro 6 - A Comprehensive Study - Part 2

In this introduction to the primary features and basic interface of Final Cut Pro, learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarizing yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, ripple, roll, slip and slide tools, audio editing and audio creation, finishing and final output.

This class is designed for anyone looking to edit professional quality video using Final Cut Pro.

Covers:
- Working with the Browser and Bins.
- Marking clips and using Insert and Overwrite edits.
- Drag and drop editing.
- Marking and deleting clips in the Timeline.
- Trimming Edit points.
- Using Ripple, Roll and Extend edits.
- Using the Slip and Slide tools.
- Applying Filters.
- Audio editing and audio creation.
- Finishing and final output.

PART 2: The second of 2 parts, this course introduces students to working with filters, effects and motion properties, titles and graphics as well as finishing and outputting of completed projects to various formats.

Prerequisites
- Basic working knowledge of Final Cut Pro 6
- Comprehensive Study of Final Cut Pro 6, Part 1 is recommended

Certification
Both parts of this course together cover the requirements necessary to successfully become an Apple Certified Pro, Level 1 in Final Cut Pro. This certification attests to basic operational knowledge of the application. Final Cut Pro. Level 1 certification also counts towards the new Final Cut Studio (FCS) Master Pro certification.

Workshop is limited to 10 participants.

Steve Szabo has worked in the film and video industry since 1990 as an editor, colorist, visual effects designer and more recently as a DVD/HD DVD author.  His work experience includes several television series, scores of television commercials and a variety of other programs for many major clients. He is an Apple Certified Trainer in Final Cut Pro 6, Motion 3, DVD Studio Pro 4, Soundtrack Pro 2 and Final Cut Studio 2 and has received a number of awards for editing, effects and DVD authoring. Szabo is the owner of Digital Edge Hawaii in Honolulu.
