Effective and dynamic visual design is the goal, whether you are creating a page design for a brochure, a website, or an interactive piece. Knowledge of the fundamentals of visual literacy is essential to communictation information and concepts through print and digital media. This workshop explores the fundamentals of design - starting with the basic elements of line, shape, texture, space, and value. A brief history of Type and its uses, as well as Color Theory and Color Systems, are presented. Fundamental design principals of Balance, Contrast, and Unity are discussed. The ultimate goal of this class is to explore design both conceptually and practically.
