This is a practical introduction to relational databases with an emphasis on the web environment using the open source MySQL database engine. Examine how data is organized in a relational database, and study how to extract information using SQL (Structured Query Language). Students completing this class should have a good introductory understanding of how relational databases work, and feel confident writing their own queries.
