InDesign Creative Effects

InDesign CS3 has made it even easier to create visually rich effects without having to switch over to Photoshop. This session will walk you through the new Effects panel, including the control of the transparency of objects, fills, and strokes; blend modes; and drop shadows, glows, gradient masks, and more.
Michael Ninness, InDesign senior product manager, paid his way through the Graphic Design program at the University of Washington by teaching digital imaging tools and techniques. Since then, he has worked professionally in the graphics software industry as a product manager and user interface designer of products for creative professionals at Extensis, Microsoft, and Adobe. In 2005, Ninness became executive director of Lynda.com, an award-winning education provider of self-paced online video training, CDs, books, and events. He is the author of Photoshop 7 Power Shortcuts and is a contributor to Photoshop User and Design Graphics magazines, and he dreams in keyboard shortcuts. He lives in Seattle with his wife and two daughters, but is always scheming to make his way back to Hawai`i to teach Photoshop.
