Introduction to Professional Editing in Final Cut Studio
This three-day hands-on course introduces students to the primary feature set and basic interface of Final Cut Pro. Learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarizing yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, some editing tools, audio editing, finishing and final output. This course does not provide a complete introduction to Final Cut Pro, which is what the FCP 200 course does in a 5-day class, but provides an introduction to the minimal number of functions for basic editing in Final Cut Pro.
Who Should Attend?
This class is designed for anyone who wants to be introduced to the most basic editing functionality in Final Cut Pro.
Certification
This course covers some of the requirements necessary to successfully become an Apple Certified Pro, Level 1 in Final Cut Pro 7. Students interested in certification may prefer to attend FCP 200, which fully prepares the student for certification.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the Macintosh OS
Basic knowledge of editing terminology is recommended
Steve Szabo has worked in the film and video industry since 1990 as an editor, colorist, visual effects designer and more recently as a DVD/HD DVD author. His work experience includes several television series, scores of television commercials, and a variety of other programs for many major clients. He is an Apple Certified Trainer in Final Cut Pro 6, Motion 3, DVD Studio Pro 4, Soundtrack Pro 2, and Final Cut Studio 2. He has received a number of awards for editing, effects, and DVD authoring. Szabo is the owner of Digital Edge Hawai‘i in Honolulu.
