Editing includes grammar, clarity, concision, and flow, all in support of the author`s voice and intention. Fiction, nonfiction, and poetry require different approaches. Students learn basics of the editing process and how to work with an editor through lecture, discussion, and a hands-on editing project. You`ll leave with an understanding of the crucial role of editing in creating dynamic prose or poetry. Please bring an unpolished 1,000-word essay for a classmate to edit and for all of us to discuss.
