Focus on the basic techniques, aesthetics, and critical issues of the archival ink jet print. The class gets hands-on lab instruction using Adobe Photoshop and the Epson 7600 Ultrachrome printer to develop a portfolio of fine archival prints. Beginning Digital Imaging is a semester long UH Art Department course with five additional spaces available through Pacific New Media.
Prerequisites: A basic knowledge of photography and the ability to comfortably navigate the Macintosh environment.
Scott Groeniger, who received his MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1996, is a new faculty member of the University of Hawaii at Manoa`s Art Department. His artwork deals with issues concerning design as art and the role of the designer artist in political, social, and propaganda visualization. Recent exhibitions of his work include the International Digital Media and Art Association iDEAs Exhibition in Orlando, Florida; The Phebe Conley Gallery in Fresno, California; and the Anita S. Wooten Gallery in Orlando, Florida.
