Expanding the scope of understanding of the creative techniques and possibilities of digital imaging, students are guided in the development of a significantly more advanced creative portfolio, working to refine their technical skills and creative concepts in order to produce a series of images that are highly developed and resolved. Intermediate Digital Imaging is a semester long UH Art Department course with five additional spaces available through Pacific New Media.
Prerequisites: A thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of photography and Adobe Photoshop and the ability to comfortably navigate the Macintosh environment.
Scott Groeniger, who received his MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago in 1996, is a new faculty member of the University of Hawaii at Manoa`s Art Department. His artwork deals with issues concerning design as art and the role of the designer artist in political, social, and propaganda visualization. Recent exhibitions of his work include the International Digital Media and Art Association iDEAs Exhibition in Orlando, Florida; The Phebe Conley Gallery in Fresno, California; and the Anita S. Wooten Gallery in Orlando, Florida.
