People are among the most popular and most challenging subjects in photography. Successful and unique photographs of people require skill, patience, perseverance, and an ability to relate with others. This workshop addresses the technical requirements, interactive strategies, and visual possibilities of capturing images of people. Participants explore choice of location, use of natural and supplementary lighting, choice of equipment, facial and character analysis, collaboration with the subject, and capturing the decisive moment. All types of images from candid moments to formal portraits are considered. Learn to make images that tell the story and reveal the lifestyle or character of another with depth and human interest. The instructor managed a successful portrait business in Toronto and brings a wealth of experience in making insightful photographs of people.
PREREQUISITE: A basic knowledge of photography. Please bring your camera and a digital capture card or film to the class.
