Visual poetry is poetry or art in which the visual arrangement of text, images, and symbols is important in conveying the intended effect of the work. It can be seen in advertisements, music videos, and fine art galleries. Most artistic inspiration evolves out of the circle of the artist`s own spiritual/emotional experiences and activities.
Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops and a selection of digital images (or objects that can be scanned, that matter personally, and that tell their own story). Participants are to use these elements to create their own editorial vision. Each creation is processed and outputted on 13` x 19` Fine Art Paper (8-color Epson UltraChrome).
Harald-M. Lehnardt is originally from Germany, where he studied visual communication. He moved to New York City in 1991 on a Fulbright Scholarship and attended Parsons School of Design/New School for Social Research to finish his master`s in media studies. As senior art director at the Federated Department Stores in Manhattan, he designed all fragrance, cosmetics, and watch ads for Macy`s. In 2006, he came to Hawai‘i to work at Lassen International as design director. He joined the creative team at Info Grafik in 2007.
