Study how to recognize, read, and write each character, with emphasis on reading. Be prepared to devote time to study and practice outside of class. Open to those who have learned to speak Japanese using the romanji, but would now like to learn how to read and write in Japanese.

Natsuko Tateishi, MA, has taught Japanese classes at the University of Hawai‘i since 1997. She teaches business Japanese at JAIMS.
