COMG 301: Introduction to Communicological Theories

Summer 2 (online)

This course introduces you to Communicology, the study of human communication processes, and to a range of well-known communication theories. We will explore the relationship between research and theory, and you will begin to understand how to apply, evaluate, and critique theories.

Through class activities, this class brings theory "down to earth," emphasizing connections between communication theory and your daily life.

About the Instructor
Jessica Gasiorek is an assistant professor in the Department of Communicology at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Her research addresses message processing, social cognition, and issues related to communication and aging. She has taught COMG 301 several times before, both online and in-person.
