Thomas Schroeder, chair of the UHM Meteorology Department and director of the Joint Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research, discusses the fundamental elements of Hawaii`s climate in relation to mid-latitude climates, as well as the probable impacts of the predicted global climate change on Hawaii`s flora, fauna, and its people.

In addition to credit and noncredit classes, the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa summer campus is host to public events, including free lectures on an exciting range of topics. The entire community is invited to attend.

Parking is available at visitor parking lots on the UHM campus for $3.00 a day, payable upon entering campus. After 4:00pm on weekdays and on weekends, visitors may park anywhere on the main campus above Dole Street (with the exception of handicap and reserved stalls). On Saturday evenings, Sundays, and holidays, parking is free, with exceptions for large events. For more information see campus parking.
