UH Mānoa Summer Sessions Moving Online

Update 06/17/20

Courses in Summer Session 2

Due to COVID-19, UH Mānoa Summer Sessions has been working hard to adjust courses to best serve students' learning and safety interests. As a result, students should continue to check their schedule in STAR GPS.

Some classes are online and asynchronous; while others are conducted online with scheduled synchronous meeting days and times. In STAR GPS, online, asynchronous classes will have "TBA/ONLINE TBA" below the course dates. Online courses with scheduled synchronous meetings will have "(dates, times specified)/ONLINE TBA" below the course dates, all scheduled times are Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time.

Finally, a few courses have obtained special approval to be conducted in-person, on-campus. In STAR GPS, these courses will be listed with days, times and a room specified below the course dates. Students traveling to Oʻahu from out of state for an in-person course will find information on the mandatory 14-day traveler quarantine here: https://hidot.hawaii.gov/coronavirus/

Update 04/03/20

UH Mānoa Summer Sessions Students

We hope this message finds you well. We realize there are many challenges for you to navigate at this time, and that you may have questions about our upcoming Summer Sessions. We hope to address some of them, here.

  • Summer Sessions courses that start between May 26 and July 2 will be held online.
    • This will not affect many of you since about half of summer courses are already online.
    • If you registered for face-to-face courses, Summer Sessions is working with UH Mānoa academic departments to convert as many of these courses to an online delivery mode; we expect to have more converted over the next week.
    •
  • If you are currently registered for a face-to-face class, please review your class information to see if it has been converted to an online course.
    • At this time, we are retaining all registrations for face-to-face courses that have not yet been converted to online delivery. Please check your registration over the next week to keep abreast of changes.
    • We will notify you if your course cannot be converted and must be cancelled.
  • For courses beginning on or after July 6, a decision will be made by May 15 as to whether face-to-face classes will be offered. In the meantime, bookmark this page for updates on the progress of converting the remaining face-to-face classes to an online format.
  • You may make changes to your current summer registration at any time by going to STAR GPS

If you need any assistance from our Student Services office, please email us at ochelp@hawaii.edu.

Thank you for your patience and resilience during this time, and please stay safe!
