Transportation in Honolulu

Getting From the Airport to the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa
Your choice of transport from the airport will depend on where you are staying. Use a shuttle van or a taxicab to get to Waikiki.
To campus housing, a taxi or airport shuttle van are your best choices. Have the UH map in hand to guide the driver to your building. All housing is located in two sections of the campus—area B6-C6 and E3 on the campus map.
Luggage is not allowed on city buses, but if you arrive with only a carry-on bag, taking a bus is another way of getting to campus. Bus stops are located on the second floor of the airport. Personnel at the airport information desks can provide directions.
Public Transportation
Honolulu's bus service is one of the city's outstanding advantages. Buses stop at most historic sites, the business district, shopping malls, and Waikiki. There are also express routes to get you quickly from here to there and circle island routes that travel the circumference of the island.
For bus route and scheduling information, there are pamphlets detailing specific routes available near the Ticket, Information & ID Window at Campus Center. You can also call TheBus at (808) 848-5555 during the business hours of 5:30am–10:00pm, or visit TheBus website.
