The Asia Pacific Dance Festival (APDF) introduces a new series entitled “Moving Forward.” Once a month, the series will present previous APDF resident artists, taking a look back at their time here at the festival as well as discussing their current projects and how they are moving forward.
The first session will feature Dancers of Damelahamid Artistic Director Margaret Grenier joined by company members Rebecca Baker-Grenier and Raven Grenier. Featured in the 2019 APDF, the Dancers of Damelahamid is an Indigenous dance company from the Northwest Coast of British Columbia with a rich history of masked dance that inspires a compelling performance.
APDF showcases the finest dances, dancers, and choreographers from Asia and the Pacific. Centered on a series of performances, the Festival includes such complementary activities as workshops, university course offerings, public lectures, forums, and community demonstrations.
APDF is a co-production of the East-West Center Arts Program and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Outreach College. Additional support is provided by the University’s Theatre & Dance Department.
