Tyler Ramos is pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music. He began his musical education with Dr. Thomas Yee and the late Ellen Masaki at the Masaki School of Music in Honolulu. A noteworthy contender in the competition circuit, Tyler has won top prizes at the national MTNA piano competition, and first place in the national Lois Trester piano competition. Tyler’s repertoire includes Ponce’s Balada Mexicana, Haydn’s Sonata in C major Hob: XVI 50, Ravel’s La valse, and Schumann’s Arabeske and Kreisleriana.
