The Statewide Cultural Extension Program (SCEP), a program of UH Mānoa Outreach College, expands its SCEP Live Online offerings with a fall concert series. For four consecutive Fridays, starting on October 2nd, live musical performances by local artists will be streamed for audiences to enjoy in the comfort and safety of their own homes. The free hour-long performances will start at 7:00pm.

On October 23, the Kenny Endo and Taiko Center of the Pacific will present an evening of traditional and contemporary pieces. The group will also be inviting special guests Todd Yukumoto, SheenRu Yong, and Jeff Peterson to join them in the performance.

The group will be dedicating the concert to two of Kenny’s mentors; Barbara Smith, esteemed ethnomusicologist who just celebrated her 100th birthday and William Malm, foremost academic expert of Japanese music who recently donated a set of instruments which they will use in the concert.

The concert also celebrate’s Kenny’s 45th anniversary of playing taiko.

The fall concert series is a joint effort between the UH Mānoa Outreach College, UH Mānoa Music Department,the East-West Center Arts Program, and Friends of Manoa Library.
