Each year, the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Summer Sessions supports students from around the world.

Summer Sessions offers more than 900 undergraduate and graduate courses in over 110 subject areas. There are over 600 online courses offered in various schedules during the 12-week Summer Sessions term. Over 5,700 students took courses and received $1.2 million in scholarships that was generated by the summer program. Partner colleges that offered courses during the summer received $5.3 million of the tuition revenue and UH Mānoa graduate assistants received $330,000 in financial support with tuition waivers.

Summer Sessions Highlights

Medical Diagnosis and Treatment
Students take a non-credit course at the John A. Burns School of Medicine. Designed for high school students interested in health professions, students spend a week immersed in a state-of-the-art research and teaching facility

Marine Science Investigations
A hands-on learning opportunity for high school students interested in marine science research. Students spend a week at the Hawai‘i Institute for Marine Biology at Moku o Lo‘e in Kāneʻohe Bay

Summer Scholar Program
High school students take credit courses during the summer and earn credits towards a college degree

Early Start Program
Students accepted to UH Mānoa in the fall are able to take credit classes, meet other incoming freshmen and learn more about the campus and resources available to support student success.
