Become a K-6 Elementary School Teacher Upon successful completion of this degree and submission of passing scores for the appropriate licensing tests, you will be recommended for initial teacher licensure to the Hawaii Teachers Standards Board (HTSB) to teach kindergarten through sixth grade (K-6) in a general education classroom.

Early Childhood & Special Education Credit

The Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education program allows candidates to earn their bachelor’s degree along with two teaching licenses at the early childhood level. This emphasis prepares teachers for young children with and without disabilities in preschool through 3rd grade (PK-3 ) general, inclusive, or special education settings.

Dual Prep - Elementary & Early Childhood Credit

The Bachelor of Education degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education (ECE) prepares knowledgeable, effective, and caring teachers of young children ages 3-8 years old.

The MEd-CS Aloha ʻĀina Education and Leadership track is a 30-credit track for Aloha ʻĀina educators and leaders.


The MEd CS STEMS² program is designed for educators who want to be transformative, connect with community, engage students in place and experiential learning, transcend disciplinary boundaries, and gain leadership skills that emphasize respect and collaboration.
