About the Instructor
Dr. Jayson Chun is a scholar of Modern Asian popular culture and has been listening to J-pop.
Dr. Patrick Patterson specializes in early 20th century Japanese popular music and transnational advertising culture.

Learn about the History of Korea and Japan through the analysis of popular music as it has changed in the twentieth century. The goal is to understand history, media culture, methods of popular culture analysis, and and market analysis while learning about K-pop and J-pop. The course is media-oriented and involves plenty of discussion.
