Summer Sessions at UH Mānoa are less hectic, with smaller class sizes and more opportunities for interaction with instructors and fellow classmates.

If you are currently in grades 10-12…
This week-long summer program provides an engaging learning opportunity for students interested in health professions. Through gross anatomy laboratory demonstrations, clinical skills laboratories, computerized manikin simulations and standardized patient interactions, students will learn how to:
- describe the epidemiology signs and symptoms, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses common in Hawai‘i;
- perform basic clinical skills such as measuring vital signs and listening to the heart and lungs with a stethoscopes; and
- interview and counsel patients.
Cost: $525 for Hawaiʻi residents; $575 for non-Hawaiʻi residents. Information about scholarship opportunities can be found here.
Number of students: 84 (max.)
Notes: Students must be 16+ years old by July 6, 2026 (first day of class). This course is not graded and not for college credit.
Marine Science Investigations at the Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology

The program will take place at the Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology at Moku o Lo‘e (Coconut Island) in Kāne‘ohe Bay, part of the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology at UH Mānoa. Students will embark on our learning vessel, Ka Noelo Kai, from He‘eia Kea Boat Harbor to Moku o Loʻe (approximately 15 minutes each way, daily).
This week-long summer program provides an engaging, hands-on learning opportunity for students interested in marine science research. Weather permitting activities include a science walking tour of the island, in-water coral reef transects and data analyses, and lab experiments highlighting marine bioacoustics, neuroethology, and coral reef biodiversity.
Cost: $750 for residents; $1,500 for non-residents
Number of students: 24 (max.)

If you are currently in grades 10 or 11…
Join the Summer Scholar Program and earn college credits during six weeks in the summer. Upon acceptance to the program, qualified high school students (rising juniors and seniors) can register for University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Summer 2026 courses and experience the college environment while still in high school.

Get an early start on your college experience with the Early Start Program. Ease in to college with one or two classes in the summer and take advantage of additional resources to make your transition from high school to college a smooth one.
There is a brief application form, which allows us to confirm you were offered admission for Fall 2026 and admit you for Summer 2026. This form will be available in March. To be notified as soon as the application is available, please email summer.programs@hawaii.edu and request to be added to the notification list for the Early Start Program.
