Freshman Merit Scholarships

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Outreach College is pleased to offer a $1,200 merit scholarship to up to 200 first-year UH Mānoa students for Summer Sessions 2020. This award recognizes academically exceptional students who have demonstrated a commitment to completing their UH Mānoa degree in four years.

The $1,200 award is to be applied towards the tuition for a single UH Mānoa Summer Sessions 2020 course. Award recipients will be responsible for any remaining course tuition and costs. Scholarship applications are due on March 27, 2020 (Friday).

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this Summer Sessions 2020 merit scholarship, you must:

  • have been admitted to UH Mānoa as a freshman in the Fall 2019 semester.
  • have UH Mānoa as your home campus in the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters.
  • have 27 or more credits. (Credits from classes completed by the end of Fall 2019 as well as classes registered for in Spring 2020 as of March 27 will be counted towards these 27+ credits.)
  • have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher as of the end of the Fall 2019 semester. (A student’s cumulative GPA is based on credit courses completed at UH Mānoa.)
  • be registered for at least 3 credits in the Summer 2020 term by March 27, 2020.

Sophomore Merit Scholarships

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this Summer Sessions 2020 merit scholarship, you must:

  • have UH Mānoa as your home campus in the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters
  • have sophomore standing (30-59 credits) at the end of the Fall 2019 semester (UH Mānoa and Transfer Credits)
  • have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher as of the end of the Fall 2019 semester (a student’s cumulative GPA is based on credit courses completed at UH Mānoa)
  • be registered for at least 3 credits in the Summer 2020 term by March 27, 2020
