Summer 2020 was one for the history books! We pulled together through the challenges of COVID-19; adapted to learning online; and drew upon the strength, agility, and resourcefulness of faculty, staff, and, most importantly, our students.

The Summer Experience 2023

The upcoming Summer Experience – while remaining responsive to real-time events and university policy – will offer hundreds of courses to choose from, on campus and online.

Stay on track toward your degree or graduate faster, try a course or two in
a new field, and save money – resident tuition applies to all undergraduate
classes. Need-based scholarships are available; check for updates and how to apply. The Open Educational Resources (OER) Initiative at Mānoa also aims to save students money and promote academic success by offering Zero-Textbook-Cost courses. With the flexibility of course delivery, as well as 3- and 6-week or less summer courses, you can plan for travel, complete a project, or continue with work and family commitments while earning college credits.

The Summer Experience is also welcoming to incoming freshmen and high school students. If you are currently in grade 12 and coming to UH Mānoa in Fall 2023, the Early Start Program offers an opportunity to ease into college with one or two classes and take advantage of additional resources designed to make your transition a smooth one. Qualified high school sophomores and juniors, when accepted to the Summer Scholar Program, can register for UH Mānoa courses, discover new interests, and experience college while still in high school.

Summer Sessions at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa supports the unlimited potential you possess. WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU BACK ONLINE AND ON OUR CAMPUS!
