Summer Session 2: July 1 – August 9, 2024
If you are currently in grade 12 and coming to UH Mānoa in Fall 2024, get an early start on your college experience with the Early Start Program.
NOTE: Adjustments for health and safety reasons will be made as needed.
This program allows incoming UH Mānoa freshmen the chance to ease in to college with one or two classes in the summer and includes resources and activities designed specifically to make the transition from high school to college a smooth one.
The Early Start Program gives you a chance to register for high demand courses in the summer so you can fulfill basic requirements earlier and with the bonus of program staff to help you along the way. Interact with faculty and advisors who can help you navigate your academic career. Get to know the campus, including Mānoa’s libraries, recreational and health facilities, Campus Center, and other student resources and be better prepared for your fall semester of college!
Application will be available in Spring 2024.
Application deadline: May 15, 2024
This program runs during Summer Session 2, from July 1- August 9, 2024. [Incoming freshmen interested in taking a course during Session 1 or the Midsummer Term should contact us (see below).] Class Availability (available February 2024) lists all courses available at UH Mānoa this summer. To find courses that run during Session 2, check the far right column in the table of the course list for 07/01-08/09.
A limited number of need-based scholarships may be available for Pell-eligible students and would cover UH Mānoa Summer Session 2 tuition, term fees, and lab fees for one course, including a lab section, if applicable. (This would amount to 3-5 credits per student.)
